Myanmar wants to expand exports to Chinese jade

In recent years, due to the taxation issue that has hindered the Sino-Myanmar jewellery and jade trade, since the end of last year, the functional departments of the two countries have negotiated on the issue of China's 33.9% import tax on jewelery and jade in Myanmar. China is expected to reduce the above tax rate. Both parties are also expected to rationalize Myanmar's exports of agricultural products, animals and animal products to China and sign relevant agreements.

In addition, Myanmar is also seeking to expand the processing of finished domestic jade products and to seek European countries to liberalize trades such as Myanmar jade. It is reported that Myanmar has not been able to hold an international jewellery fair for more than a year. It may resume the jade fair in Nay Pyi Taw in May this year.
